Picture
UNESCO Heritage My Son Sanctuary also called the Mini Angkor Wat.
Impressive Hinduist temple ruins and beautiful stone sculptures make up the biggest Cham remains in the World, all surrounded by a mystic tropical jungle.
HOW TO REACH TO MY SON
My Son temple is around 40 km. away both from Hoi An Ancient Town and Da Nang City and takes a 1-hour drive.
The best way to get here is to rent a motorbike for 150000 VND from Hoi An or Da Nang.
You can also join organized tours but prepare to lose much more time and money (around 25 EUR/USD per person).

HOW LONG IT TAKES TO VISIT MY SON:
It will take around 1-3 hours.
The Temple Complex is not very big respect to its similars.
You may spend more time watching the show or waiting in the shuttle queue.

WHEN TO GO:
It is not recommended to go on very rainy days.
It is better to go as early as you can in the morning. Because after 9 o'clock, large tourist convoys start to arrive.
Temple opening time is 6 am - closing time is 17.

TICKETS:
The ticket costs 150.000 VND per person and includes a shuttle service. Guide service costs 100.000 VND per group.
Be aware that credit cards are not accepted. You can pay only in cash.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Once you arrive at the entrance of My Son Temple Complex, just across the parking lot, you will see the ticket sales office.
After passing through the ticket sales point, you can walk another 100 meters and get on the buggy carriages used as a service next to the souvenir shops. Even if you want to walk in the forest, this service will save you a lot of time, the distance is quite long.
The shuttle will leave you at the second entrance, where they will check your tickets again. Then you need to walk among the temple ruins for around 200 meters to get to the first temple.
Before getting on the shuttle again on the return, you can have a delicious coconut iced coffee at the cafè close to the bus stop.
TRADITIONAL DANCE SHOWS:
During the day there are traditional dance performances at 2 different sites:
The first site is the Cham Folk Art Performance Centre which you will see on your right while walking on the main road after you get down from the shuttle. Show times are 09.15; 10.45; 14.00; 15.30 and each show last 20 minutes.
The second site is at the "G Group", a part of the temple complex, towards the exit. As this is an open-air stage, the shows take place if only the weather is suitable. Here just two shows take place, one in the morning at 10.00 and the other in the afternoon at 14.45.
WHAT TO WEAR
Make sure to bring mosquito repellent as it is located in the forest and requires walking. Also, don't forget to bring a hat, glasses and even sunscreen for very sunny days.
